The holidays are headed our way, and while we’ve seen a lot of great posts about your meals and how to include cannabis…. however we aren’t seeing much of this one important thing! So we took matters into our own hands… Short, sweet, and straight to the point.
Here are 3 Ways to Pay it Forward this Holiday Season!
1. Your Local Food Bank
As you can image Food Banks and Food Pantries are really put to the test when it comes to the Holiday Season. Often times their resources run low as far as food stock, and volunteer help. This is a great time of year to offer what you can. From food items, your time, or even just a small donation, anything helps! If you want and are able, they usually get another huge rush right after the holidays at the beginning of January. Click here, to find your local food bank! When you get to the site, and find the food bank nearest to you, you’ll notice a Volunteer tab. All you have to do is fill out an application and your availability and they will get in contact with you, you can go in one time, or 5 times, or 100 times. It’s all up to you, and anybody can do it!

2. Your Local Grocery Store
Whether it’s Trader-Joe’s, Whole Foods, Walmart, Vons, Safeway, Walgreens, Albertsons, Jewel, Haggens, Pavilions, Sprouts…pretty much any store actually.. you are guaranteed to find something.  For us, it’s our local Vons where you just grab a pre-filled bag of groceries and pay $5.00 for a family in need. That’s it! Easy peasy. Bigger corporations like Target and Walmart usually do a Toy Drive where you pick any toy and pay for it at checkout, they will then take those toys and send them to local families in need! Pretty cool concept!

3. Nursing Homes
What!? Yeah, I know this isn’t one you hear of often. But really, volunteering or even just visiting a nursing home during the holidays could cheer up a resident who might not have many visitors or contact with people at all. You could really brighten a senior’s day with an hour of your time and some good conversation!
